Within the South Hams, the council stated there would be
free parking in Modbury on 10, 17 and 24 December, supported by Modbury Parish
Council. On 10, 17 and Christmas Eve, Sydney Home automobile
park can be free all day. In East Devon, the district council
said drivers could be charged £2 for a pay and show ticket at a council-owned
automotive park and the ticket can be valid all day
in any other council-run automotive park. These are Crediton's St Saviour's Means,
Cullompton's Station Street Automotive Park and Tiverton's
multi-storey automotive park. Councils are providing free or decreased-worth charges at their car
parks in the days leading up to Christmas. Torridge
District Council is offering free parking on some days.
Exeter City Council stated it was not offering any parking reductions for Christmas.
The "pay for an hour, stay for a day" parking promotion would
enable customers to "totally explore" the primary towns
with out worrying about their parking expiring,
the council stated. -
